Dear Silan
I saw your note to Mary. We think of you often and remember you in
prayer. You are precious in the sight of the Lord.
I have been thinking much about how we are made Living Stones by the
hand of the Lord. In the Old Testament the children of Israel were not
supposed to use any tool upon the stones. They were simply to build the
alter out of uncut stones.
Ex 20:25
On the other hand, Nimrod built a tower out of brick. ( Gen.11) so that
the people could make a name for themselves in the earth. This is what false
religion does. It tries to conform us to the image of man rather than the
image of God. Praise God that He fashions us individually and fits us
together.

If you build altars from stone, use only uncut stones. Do not chip or shape
the stones with a tool, for that would make them unfit for holy use.

(V.4) Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by
God and precious,
