Dear Silan,

It is after midnight here, and everything is very quiet and peaceful.
Everyone is asleep and I love the silence.

Forgive me for not writing back sooner, but I haven't been on my computer lately. My friends are praying for you now as I have told them about you. We all want to know more about what is happening in China now with the church.
I found the book, THE HARVEST TRILOGY. My husband Charles said to tell you that if you send your mailing address, he will sent you a CD or tape of our music. Do you have a CD player or tape recorder there? Let me know. Also, I will try to find more copies of the book to send you one. The copy I have isn't mine.

I really enjoy your letters and appreciate your taking time to write me. You are very encouraging. I am sad for the American church. It is sad that Christians have to go through so much pain in order to find out who they are. But then a baby must not enjoy pushing from it's mother through the birth canal either. In America, they want to believe a doctrine that makes everything easy and comfortable. There is much fear of losing everything, pain, being wretched and poor, death.

God is so much more merciful and loving than we are. But He is giving us his heart, a heart with no walls, His unconditional love that never stops even when we are persecuted. To do this He must break our hearts. He loves a broken heart and a contrite spirit. The joyful life he is going to give us is a light ahead showing us where to walk.
I have to go to bed now but I will write again,

Love in Him,

Mary
