 Preface
In the fall of 1998 I received a letter in my email that demanded my attention. I could hear a heart pure as a mountain stream. The message was not lengthy but straight to the point.
For some reason I kept it and read it again and again. A few days later I replied with a comment of appreciation of this person's sincerity and zeal for the Gospel. I encouraged the writer to continue evangelizing and wrote a little about my own relationship with Jesus.
This started a correspondence that is still on going. With her permission I have posted our letters here. Quite a few of mine are missing. Had I known the magnitude of blessing this friendship was to bring me, I would have kept every single one. The re-reading of the letters as I worked on them to put them up has both blessed and broken my heart anew.
Because of the persecution she has experienced from the authorities in China I have used a fictitious name. At this time I do not know if she is in prison or even alive, and I want to be careful not to endanger her further.
Some of the letters have been edited because of the content of personal information (including names), but I have tried to leave them as unaltered as possible.
There are two different ways to read the letters. On the bottom of each page is an option to continue to the next page or back up to the preceding page. I have also listed the letters on the left and right by the date they were written.
